That was the exact moment it all became crystal clear...
I was sitting in silence, writing the words that flowed from my awareness. I wasn’t thinking. The words emerged from spirit, not mind. Some of them I didn’t even recognize. And then came “illumify”.
Instantly, I knew that it was significant. And somehow familiar.
At the time, having spent the previous 10 years doing leadership communication, it felt like the one word “illumify” signified everything a leader needs to do. And it does. Though I now know it means a lot more.
When I awoke the next morning, three more words surfaced: Illuminate. Amplify. Unify. String them together and you have “Illumify”. The power to ignite meaningful change.
It was as if I had arrived in the place I was always meant to be. And I knew it. It felt sacred, and certain.
Without pause, I embraced it wholly and unquestioningly. Although there was no business rationale to rebrand my internationally award-winning company, I did so, recreating every piece of its offer to embody Illumify. For the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of doing the most meaningful work I’ve ever done. And the joy of seeing it transform individual potential into promise, as clients illumify to discover their true purpose and ignite what matters to them.
In my case, I could look back at my life and perhaps find that my career path has some faint footprints that might have led me here. Illumify is the ultimate, amplified version of what I was striving to do. And yet it is so much more than I could have imagined.
And that may be true for you, too. Maybe what you’re meant to be and do is dramatically different from your life so far. And maybe it isn’t.
